  Summer Acting Camps

Summer Acting Camps

Summer acting camps can provide the perfect vehicle for your children to immerse themselves in creative fun.

Acting camp is about far more than just what happens during the time your child attends. What happens before and after camp is as important as the camp itself. Help them prepare for the camp experience beforehand. After camp is over, spend time revisiting what they experienced and learned. Often, there are exercises and drama games that can be fun for the whole family to recreate. Children look to their parents for validation. Be that validation for your young actor or actress.

Summer acting camps are as varied as the children who attend them. Take the time to research, research, research. If your children are new to the art, look for fun-filled camps that focus more on the enjoyment of the experience than the knowledge gained.

As your children progress, they will want, as well as need, more challenges for their minds. Acting camp should always be fun, but as your children grow they will develop a sense of pride in their craft and will be eager to take the challenge to the next level. Do your homework and be prepared to provide that challenge in their next camp.

Here are some summer acting camps you might want to check out:

California Summer Acting Camps
Students in each of the three programs attend a daily class in basic acting technique, which offers intensive study with one teacher for the duration of the program. The Actors Workshop is designed to give young actors training in several different acting skills, making them more capable and well-rounded actors. All programs are held on the campus of the University of California, Berkeley.

Summer Acting Camps
The Children's Theatre of California and Pompaneous Studio have teamed up once again to offer acting camps this summer. Students will learn in a fun, exciting, and creative environment from professional instructors who are active in the fields of theatre, improvisation, and acting instruction. Each camp will last up to two weeks and be lead by B Street regular Kurt Johnson. In addition to the Kids Camps offered last year (9-13 year olds) we will also offer a Junior Camp (ages 6-8) and a Teen Camp (ages 14-17). Every young performer will gain experience with acting, improv, and the rehearsal process. All camps conclude with a final showcase production where actors can show off everything they have learned! Come and join the fun!
